A Basketball Tournament Among Girls Was Held at the MEPhI Tashkent Branch

Within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between branches of foreign higher educational institutions in the city of Tashkent and the Tashkent region, signed to implement the five initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a girls’ basketball tournament was held today at the Tashkent branch of MEPhI.

The purpose of the tournament is to promote a healthy lifestyle among youth, introduce mass sports as a healthy habit, and support the realization of talents and initiatives.

According to the results of the competition, the girls’ team of the Lomonosov Moscow State University branch in Tashkent took 1st place among the participating universities. The second place was taken by the girls’ team from the Almalyk branch of MISIS. Third place went to the girls’ team of the Herzen University branch in Tashkent. The remaining 5 teams were awarded certificates.

The panel of judges, invited from the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sport, ensured that the tournament was conducted at a high professional level.
